Pirate Puppy FTW!

Okay the whole free to play (F2P) thing for MMOs is getting a lot more interesting particularly with the recent release of Runes of Magic. I've only spent about 4 hours in Runes so I can't really give an in-depth opinion on it, as of yet. However, I can say that those four hours didn't suck. The problem is that I'm currently distracted by Age of Conan again but that's another post.

Oh, back to the F2P thing...another game that I'm sort of excited about is Free Realms. Okay yes. It's is ultra-cartoonish and geared towards the younger crowd but look - it's a freakin pirate puppy! I will admit I am a virtual pet-whore. Case in point, Fable 2. Remember when you are given the choice at the end to bring back everyone who's been unjustly killed or bring back your dog? Yep, I picked the dog. I'm not proud of it, but it's out there now. I picked my dog!

However beyond the pet stuff, Free Realms actually looks purty cool. I'll definitely be checking out this game. Once slated for an April 09 release date, its in beta now so release should be forthcoming.
